Dear Yuletide author,

Hiiiiiii! Even though I don't know you (or who knows, maybe I do. It is a secret, after all), I already love you. That is because you and I share three fandoms that are very important to me.

If you're interested in seeing the sort of fic I like, here is a link to the fics I have saved in the memories of my personal lj. I love me some gen fic, but I never say no to fluff either. I also enjoy fast-paced adventure and really cerebral character pieces. Basically, I like almost everything. The only things I don't really like are extreme violence and character-bashing.But really, if you put your heart into it, I'll love it.

Now, for the slightly more specific details...

Chrestomanci

I reread The Pinhoe Egg for the first time in a very long while and Marianne's entire existence guts me. The way her parents just push her aside and act like she doesn't matter and won't amount to anything (and that even after it was proven that Gammer was behind the wackiness her dad was still all "You've ruined everything") and that despite all that she has the strength to stand up to them and free her grandfather. I just want more of Marianne. I want to see how she adapts to life at the Castle and away from her family. I don't think Joe was a character option, but I would love to see how he adapts as well.

I also adore Marianne's relationship with Cat. I think it's interesting how he was able to give her advice because he's been in a similar experience. I love the idea of the two of them being bad-ass (well, politely very powerful) enchanters when they grow up. If you could write about their relationship, either platonically or romantically, I would really love it.

Inbetweeners

Oh, these boys! I just want fic about them out in the world, being their usual inappropriate selves. I think it would be hilarious to see their crude/horrible/dorky behavior at somewhere really normal. But really, just write them being funny and I will be happy. I have yet to see the movie, but hopefully I will be seeing it by Christmas, so feel free to include details from the film.

Ringer

God, this show. I love everybody on it, but I especially love Gemma, because she is awesome. I'd love read a character-centric piece about Gemma. How does she handle being kidnapped? What's her relationship with her sons? What is she like away from Siobhan/Bridget? You don't have to answer any of those questions in the fic if you don't want to; what I really want is an introspective piece on Gemma.

I threw in a bunch of other characters in my request-- as I write this there's still an episode left before the winter hiatus and since we all know how much can happen in one episode of Ringer, I thought it would be best to leave the character options open. If after the hiatus you want to explore her relationship with Bridget, I'm open to it. If you want to do something about Gemma and Siobhan's friendship (such as it was), I'm open to that as well. I also included Andrew in the request because I'd love to see their friendship expanded on in a fic. I'm not as interested in Henry, although since he is her husband I would understand if you had to include him. But mostly, I want to know more about Gemma.

(Also, if there is a mention of Gemma wearing a sequined dress or Siobhan/Bridget wearing something metallic, I will love you.)

First things first, thank you so much! The fact that you want to write for any of these fandoms makes me happy.

If you want an idea of what sort of fic I like, here are the fics I have saved (in the memories of my personal lj). Generally, I like gen fic and romance (and I love fluff, but I like fluff with some substance at the same time, which I know is a little oxymoronic). I like character-centric pieces, although I won't say no to really intricate plots. I don't mind smut, but I prefer it not to be the central part of the story. The only things that I really don't like reading are extreme violence (this includes rape) and character bashing.

But in the end, I'm easy to please. Just put your heart into it and I will love it.

Fringe
How in love am I with the alternate universe? Really, really in love. I adore how they've set up the dynamic between (alt) Olivia, Charlie, and Lincoln. I would love to see that explored more in fic. I think something set after alt-Olivia comes back to their world would be interesting--I'm sure that would change their relationishps a lot. But really, whatever you want to do is fine as long as I get something about these three. I'm fine with gen fic, but I have to mention what I like to call My Continuing Love Affair With Lincoln Lee. I just love him and what we've seen of his relationship with Olivia. If you want to work with that, I would adore it.

Chronicles of Chrestomanci
I really love Cat, Marianne, and Tonio. I think they make up this cool new generation of enchanters. I'd love to see them a little older, working and learning together. Of course, I would also love to see Chrestomanci swan in and save the world, or at least give it a good-talking to. Marianne/Cat is a pairing I love in theory but have never actually read, so if it's something you're interested in, go for it! Gen fic is wonderful as well.

Dear Wonderful Yuletide Writer,

THANK YOU! Thank you for writing something that I desperately want fic of. You are awesome, and I think I love you, even though I don't know you.

So, general things: I really love gen, drama, romance, fluff, angst, and fluffy angst. I also love subtle character pieces or big long sweeping stories. I actually love almost everything. The only real fic pet peeves I have are AUs that completely change the premise of the original story and extremely whiny characters. I'm also not a huge fan of smut, but I do like it if it's built into a larger story.

But really, I will love whatever you write me as long as you put effort into it and love the fandom as much as I do.

So, the fandom-specific notes:

Merlin Conspiracy: (I am just whole-sale copying what I wrote last year about this) I somehow ended up rereading this twice within six months, and now I am absolutely desperate for more.  I love the foundations DWJ set for Nick and Roddy---Nick's puppy-dog crush turning into respect and Roddy slowly coming to like him--and I'd love to see where that takes them a couple of years down the road.

Mad Men: I wrote "something post-season 3" or something to that effect on my actual request even though the season 3 finale hadn't aired yet and OMG how happy am I that I wrote that? I loved the crazy new dynamic that the finale introduced. I especially like how Pete and Peggy ended up because my whole thing about them is that I don't really want them to get together, I want them to rule the world. I would really love something about Pete and Peggy in this New World Order that's been created at Sterling, Cooper, Draper, and Pryce. It would be great seeing the other characters in it as well. Anything about their weird relationship would be really lovely.

Better off Ted: I love the huge group dynamic on this show; it's the absolute best part. If you could write fic about the wacky goings-on at Veridian, that would be awesome. If you want to add in some awkward Ted/Linda flirting, go for it, but what I really want is just a "typical" day at Veridian. What are they weaponizing that week, perhaps? Or what's malfunctioning and causing major problems? What crazy thing is Veronica doing? Give me wackiness, and I will be happy.

P.S. My Christmas morning is spent with my nephews, ages 6 and 4, so I will not get to a laptop until probably the afternoon. So don't expect a review from me until later in the day. It's not that I'm ungrateful for the fic, it's just that I will be running around like a crazy person trying to keep up with the fam.
